Biography

Dr Pranav Dorwal is a Molecular Anatomical Pathologist, having received fellowship in Anatomical Pathology and certification in Molecular Pathology from the RCPA. He has a strong interest in medical education and research with more than 60 publications to his credit. He also holds an adjunct appointment with the Monash University, where he is involved in pathology teaching for medical students. Dr Dorwal is an examiner for molecular pathology and part of the digital pathology subcommittee and the specialist international medical graduates (SIMG) panels with the RCPA. He has a wealth of experience in setting up new assays/ tests in Australia and NZ in ISO:15189 environments.

Dr Dorwal has worked in the molecular pathology services at MD Anderson Cancer Centre (Houston, TX, USA) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC, NY, USA). He undertook a visiting fellowship at Australian National University (ANU), Canberra and was awarded the chancellor’s gold medal during his Diploma in Clinical Pathology. Dr Dorwal has been on the council of International Clinical Cytometry Society (ICCS), having been an American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified Specialist in Cytometry (SCYM). He also holds ECFMG, Clinical Nephropathology and US Medical Licensing certifications.Dr Dorwal is an international fellow of the College of American Pathologists and a reviewer for many international journals.
