Dr Raha Ghahan

Biography
Dr Raha Madadi Ghahan is a fellow of the ROYAL COLLEGE OF PATHOLOGISTS OF AUSTRALASIA (RCPA) since 2016. She obtained her Medical Doctor (MD) at Tehran Azad University of Medical Science in 2005.
Raha has almost 5years’ experience as Clinical Director and Head of Anatomical Pathology Department (including cytology) at Gosford Hospital.
As an independent staff specialist, she has reported an extensive range (approximately 3000 cases per year) of routine and complex specimens including breast, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, routine gynaecology, pulmonary pathology, head and neck, and lymphoma.
Additionally, she has reported cases from all non-gynaecological sites and is proficient in all areas of cytology in particular, thyroid, EBUS lung, EUS pancreatic, urine, effusion specimens, central nervous system cytology and lymphoid cytology.
Raha has independently performed manually guided fine needle aspirations and frozen sections on a wide range of specimens with a particular focus on breast sentinel nodes, urology, skin, endocrine, genitourinary and CNS specimens. She has participated regularly in RCPA QAP modules and has independently performed coronial, non-coronial autopsies as well as perinatal and neonatal autopsies.
Raha is involved in clinical multidisciplinary meetings (MDT) – Breast, urology, gastrointestinal, colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, haematology and malignant lung pathology.
Dr Madadi Ghahan is actively involved in teaching histopathology to medical students, residents, registrars from other specialties and laboratory staff.
