Biography

Dr Samanthika Weerawardena graduated from The University of Ruhana, Sri Lanka in 1998. She completed her vocational training in Anatomical Pathology at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and graduated first in her year. From 2006-2007, she was a University research fellow investigating the cutaneous features of mycosis fungoides. In 2007, Samanthika migrated to Australia and retrained in Anatomical Pathology, Liverpool Hospital and Davies Campbell de Lambert Pathology, Sydney. She was admitted to Fellowship of Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2010. Samanthika joined LAV Pathology as a Histopathologist, Cytopathologist in 2012 and has a strong interest in teaching being closely involved in “Milestones in Pathology”, a course run by LAV Pathology for registrars in Anatomical Pathology.
