Stephen Peyton

Biography
Dr Stephen Peyton graduated medicine from UQ and began registrar training in Anatomical Pathology in Hunter Area Pathology Service Newcastle followed by Pathology Queensland, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. After gaining fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologist Australasia he began his career at Helix Pathology predominant reporting gastrointestinal pathology and general specialist pathology, as well as cytology. In 2016 he joined QML pathology reporting similar work and extended into dermatopathology. He is a long term member of the International Academy of Pathologists, the Australasian Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, and the Australian Society of Cytology of which he is the currently president. He presents lectures and tutorials regularly at the national scientific meetings for the International Academy of Pathologists and The Australian Society of Cytology. He is also directly involved with registrar teaching with Pathology Queensland. In May this year he took over as Director of Anatomical Pathology at QML. In recent years his interests have incorporated the transition to digital pathology and the utilisation of AI.
